Lynn has designed this colorful childrens calendar as an organizational tool for teachers who use the SIOP (Sheltered Instructional Observational Protocol) model of instruction.
Lynn is an artist who holds a Masters Degree as an ESL teacher. She has developed several lesson plans using art as a venue to help diverse language learners understand and learn how to use proficient English.
The SIOP model is the result of the work of Jana Eschevarria, Mary Ellen Vogt, and Deborah Short. Lynn wanted to honor them by creating this calendar which helps students comprehend content material.

Lynn Richardson was born in New York City. Her mother was a commercial artist and her father was a writer. Her parents encouraged her to pursue her talents. She moved to Dallas in 1976 with her family. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Houston and of UHCL. While Lynn worked as a substitute teacher in the DISD for 23 years, she continued to produce art. She is a member of the MAC and is utilizing her Master’s Degree to design ESL/Art courses. Lynn is a grandmother of 13 and this is her first publication.
