A spiritual memoir of heartbreak, discovery, and resilience
An aging mom realizes with shock and sorrow she cannot remain in her marriage. Bereft with grief, she fights against her new status at every point, confronting car mechanics and innocent bystanders with her tearful woes. Her teenage daughter’s angry response and her own inner turmoil add to the emotional fallout.
Raised in a minister’s family, she is forced to examine her own outworn beliefs about faith. As a newly single woman, she must also learn to face a life without her lover, confidant, and laundress. To her surprise, she discovers that she is far more capable than she thought. Her voyage down the rocky road allows her to accept the capricious and miraculous events of life as she grows into the welcome reality of a much larger, more powerful self.
