Rick started writing when he was still in grade school, and was first recognized in 6th grade, when he won a Junior Auxiliary contest for best short story in the Arkansas community where he lived. He has always enjoyed creative writing, and has a collection of stories he has written since high school. His back ground, based in having lived all over the U.S. when growing up, and in Europe while in the military, has afforded him the opportunity to see and participate in a multitude of diverse experiences, cultures, and demographic influences. He attended Indiana University, with a BA in Psychology in 1980, and Boston University with an MBA in 1988. This book represents a compilation of poetry which spans all of those experiences. Rick has found that the medium of poetry conveys concepts and emotions that allow for unique interpretation by each individual reader. The title is intended to reflect the fact that the range of themes and contextual scope contained in this work accrued over a period of 35 years in his life, beginning in his teenage years and coming up to the present, with some being written as recently as this Spring. Much of his Life’s Journey can be shared through the turning of these pages. Rick and his wife live in greater Chicago, with three dogs and three cats. They have an 83 acre farm downstate where they enjoy taking the dogs to run and frolic to their hearts’ content. He is an avid outdoorsman.
