About the author

Alfred von Reumont was a German academic, author and diplomatist. He was trained at the universities of Bonn and Heidelberg, and later joined the German consular service to be employed in Florence, in Constantinople and in Rome. Reumont’s various texts deal primarily with Italy, where he passed several years of his life.
