World demand has expanded with respect to the utilization of asphalt within the development of streets, air terminals, and ports. Due to the design lifespan of asphalt, it is important to consider all options to avoid any cracking or, in technical terms, fatigue and rutting issues. From a sustainability point of view, recycled materials have caught the interest of researchers for inclusion in pavement. Australia generates tonnes of plastics and other recycled materials and they need space for disposal. From a research perspective, if recycled material can be employed in asphalt mixes to improve the properties of the mixes, a potential application has been established. This book specifically deals with the importance of using recycled materials to help asphalt against rutting and fatigue. The waste materials considered in this book are plastic and crumb rubber.
