This book tells about her visions of the last days of Jesus Christ, his Last Supper, the prayer in the Garden, the Crowning of Thorns, the Trial by Pontius Pilate, the Carrying of the Cross, the Crucifixion and the Dying on the Cross, and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The visions described in the book were highly detailed and realistic, which made the book very popular among the Christian around the world.
About the author
Anne Catherine Emmerich (774 to 1824) was an Augustinian nun at the Convent of Agnetenberg, Dulmen, Westphalia, Germany. She was suffering from a severe disease that made her bedridden. During the years of the disease, she experienced numerous mystical revelations of Jesus Christ’s life and had visions of the past and the future. She was visited by multiple famous people of her time, who made notes of her meditations and prophecies. Later, those notes were converted into religious writings, famous all over the world.
