‘The Pearl’ is a collection of erotic tales, rhymes, songs and parodies in magazine form that were published in London between 1879 to 1881, when they were forced to shut down by the authorities for publishing rude and obscene literature.
This edition of the ‘The Pearl’ is the complete 18 Volume set, plus the Christmas Annual, of the Victorian Erotic magazine.
Included in the eighteen issues were six serialized novels that are standards of sensual literature of the time, as well as the meatiest limericks then current, parodies of Robert Burns’s Merry Muses, ballads of epic sexual adventures, countless ditties, witticisms, jokes, letters from “readers, ” and a potpourri of the scatological and scandalous gossip of the day.
