Dr. A. Puratchikody, is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Bharathidasan Institute of Technology, Anna University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. She has a total experience of 18 years in teaching and research. She has qualified GATE, and was the best outgoing student for which she was awarded Thiru. Gnana Sebastian-Theresa Educational Endowment award. She was also awarded Tamil Nadu young women scientist award 2008 and Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists (IABMS) Award for the year 2010. Being a continuous researcher, she was sanctioned a research project entitled “Isolation and characterization of bioactive molecules from marine organisms” by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi during the year 2006-09. Again, for the year, 2013-16, she had received a DST project entitled “Design, synthesis and evaluation of novel COX-2 inhibitors of dibromotyrosine derivatives as anti-inflammatory drugs”. She is also a co-investigator for a UGC sponsored project. Her area of research is discovery and development of novel lead molecules. Apart from her role of academician, she has many feathers in her hat. She has held various administrative positions of Anna University, Tiruchirappalli.
