Aleksi Ylönen is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the United States International University- Africa (USIU- Africa). He is also a collaborating researcher at the Center for International Studies, University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal, and a member of African Studies Group at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. Dr. Ylönen has taught extensively in universities, professional preparation centres and other institutions, and conducted wide-ranging field research in the greater Horn of Africa. He has authored numerous publications in internationally renowned outlets, including the recently published The Horn of Africa since the 1960s (edited volume, Routledge, 2017).
