About the Author: Alexandra (Alix) Edmiston is a Toronto-based storyteller whose debut book, Confessions from the Cubicle, received rave reviews from CTV in Montreal and Toronto, TVO and CBC Radio. It delved into the unique challenges young women face adapting to the corporate world. A versatile writer, Alix effortlessly weaves between fiction and non-fiction. She enjoys exploring magical realism and reflecting on the complexities of contemporary life through her writing. Inspired by cinematic storytelling, Alix is in her element when immersed in film during the Toronto International Film Festival.Beyond her literary pursuits, Alix is a former journalist and internationally accredited corporate communicator (ABC) who works with tech leaders to hone their unique stories to place them at the centre of the conversation. Whether they want to thrive as a thought leader on Linked In, elevate their brand via traditional media, or introduce something new and exciting to the marketplace, she will exceed their engagement targets. Fascinated by all things digital, Alix earned A+ in the digital marketing management program at the University of Toronto. She is also a graduate of Ryerson”s journalism program for university graduates (JRAD), holds a degree in psychology from the University of Windsor, and earned a self-employment development certificate from Centennial College”s Centre for Entrepreneurship. Alix cares deeply for her community and is passionate about empowering others. A graduate of the prestigious Yale School of Management Women in Executive Leadership program, she tirelessly works to bridge gaps, shatter stereotypes, and build a more inclusive world for all.
