Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In many of the leading American uni versities the modern novel has been serving as the subject for lectures and as the material for private study, in the course of which the Short-story received afair share of consideration.
