Im Gegensatz zu ihren Autorenkollegen wurde Isabel Sharpe nicht mit einem Stift in der Hand geboren. Lange Zeit vor ihrer Karriere als Schriftstellerin erwarb sie ihren Abschluss in Musik auf der Yale Universität und einen Master in Gesangsdarbietung auf der Universität von Boston. Im Jahre 1994 rettet sie die Mutterschaft vor einer Hatz als Küken im harten Wettbewerb des Geldverdienens, für den sie eindeutig ungeeignet war. Auf der Suche danach sich selbst zu stimulieren, während sie Zuhause auf ihr anspruchsvolles Baby aufpasste, tauchte sie ein in die Welt des Roman Schreibens. Ihr erster Anlauf war ein unveröffentlichbares Durcheinander, aber da war sie schon längst Feuer und Flamme.
Im Dezember 2000 wurde ihr erstes Buch veröffentlicht. Seitdem hat sie eine Vielzahl von Büchern an unterschiedliche Verlage verkauft. Isabel ist Mitglied der Romance Writers of America seit 1996. Mit ihren zwei Söhnen und Katzen lebt Isabel in Wisconsins. Ihre Freizeit verbringt sie mit lesen, kochen oder Training, so kann sie mehr von ihrem selbst gekochten Essen vertragen.
