Over my lifetime, I have discovered that simplicity and depth go together. Dietrich Schindlers book, Profound, masterfully contains both. It is a seminal primer of serious reflection about some of lifes most basic questions. Timeless and timely, this book deftly quotes some of the best ancient and modern sources. As I read each chapter in sequence, I wondered if the next chapters could be as good as the ones I had already read. My imagination said no, but as I continued reading, reality said yes! I highly recommend this book for all thinkers, both Christian and non-Christian alike.

The son of German immigrant parents, Dietrich Schindler was born in America, but destined for Germany. Dietrich and his wife, Jan, have been planting churches in Germany for over thirty-two years. He is the author of The Jesus Model: Planting Churches the Jesus Way (Piquant: UK, 2013) and a course on Christianity for postmoderns entitled My Life-Workshop (www.mylifeworkshop.org), often referred to as a pre-Alpha course, and a childrens book: The Tortoise and the Hair. Dr. Schindler is a sought after church planting consultant in Europe, conference speaker, and the founding pastor of Journey Church in Frankfurt, Germany. Dietrich and Jan have three adult children and two grandchildren.
