In the summer of 1725, two fishermen from the Isle of Lewis––young Ian Mac Leod and his uncle Hector Mac Kenzie––set sail from Le Le Havre for Louisbourg and Île Royale on a newly christened merchant ship.

Donald Macleod was born and raised in Cape Breton, calling the rural community of Marion Bridge home. After a short stint in the Canadian Air Force, Don became a power lineman in Sechelt, British Columbia, where he and his wife raised two daughters Tara and Erin and a son Colin . After forty years as a lineman, Don retired to Powell River, British Columbia.
Voyages of the Emily R is his first novel.
