She has undertaken research into various aspects of language use in social contexts and developed a curriculum that has guided teaching practice.Elizabeth A. Thomson is an Academic Research Officer at the Centre for Defence Research, Australian Defence College, Canberra, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra. She researches in the fields of sociolinguistics and interculturality. Her most recent publication is the report Battling with words: A study of language, diversity and social inclusion in the Australian Department of Defence.
