عن المؤلف

Herbert George Wells, known by his pen name H. G. Wells, was an English writer born on September 21, 1866, in Bromley, Kent. He was a prolific writer not only of science fiction but also of contemporary novels, history, and social commentary. His foresight and ability to explore social and political themes through his work distinguish him among peers. Wells’ early novels, known as ‘scientific romances, ‘ include now-classic works such as ‘The Time Machine’ (1895), ‘The War of the Worlds’ (1898), and ‘The Invisible Man’ (1897). These groundbreaking narratives laid the groundwork for modern science fiction. Aside from his famous science fiction, Wells also authored novels reflecting on personal and emotional aspects of human life, as seen in ‘The Secret Places of the Heart’ (1922). This novel centers around psychological exploration and the complexities of the human mind and relationships. Wells’s literary style, characterized by a forthright, journalistic approach, and his intellectual curiosity resonates through his examinations of the human condition and utopian ideals. His works have not only entertained but also inspired thought and speculation on potential futures, both utopian and dystopian. Wells passed away on August 13, 1946, leaving behind a rich legacy that continues to influence literature and the genre of science fiction.
