With a handpicked selection of the most unusual, appalling, winding and bizarre royal court cases in China and some other countries, the book truthfully describes how these incidents developed, attempting to reveal the truth behind them with limitedly available historical sources.Due to the limitedness of information, depiction of each case is followed by viewpoints of others to avoid subjectivity.The book also contains accounts of the live histories of major characters involved in the cases (emperors, imperial concubines, and important court ministers) as well as brief accounts of the historical backgrounds against which these cases occurred.Photographs and links can be added between paragraphs or at the end of an article when necessary.Portraits of relevant characters and photographs of and explanatory notes for royal ware and clothing can be inserted into an article.Links can be added at the end of an article to provide information about the location of an incident-for instance the Hall of Mental Cultivation where Emperor Tong Zhi died of illness, memorials to historical figures (such as the Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Park in Guangzhou), or related historical incidents (for example, since the sudden death of Emperor Yong Zheng had to do with Lyu Liuliang, a victim of Yong Zheng’s literary inquisition policy, a link can be added to give a detailed account of the literary inquisition.)Centering on characters and moving on with cases, the book covers numerous aspects of royal history and culture.
