The undeveloped area that extended from his house to the beach reminded him of the jungle in a Tarzan movie he once saw, and his imagination carried him on many journeys of adventure through those jungles, where he was master of his own happiness for that brief time in his life.

John Jacobs grew up in Southeast Florida from the age of seven. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Army; earned a degree from Florida State University, and taught high school American History and Government before retiring in 2011.
