The Stepps have compiled a remarkable portrait of the amazing diversity of Tennessee’s state parks, each one unique and fascinating in its own way. The book is organized into three regional sections so readers can easily locate and read about parks in the specific area they wish to visit. J.L. Stepp is the co-author of the best-selling Smoky Mountains hiking guidebook titled The Afternoon Hiker. The guidebook features 110 trails descriptions and over 300 color photos. A native East Tennessean, Stepp owns S & S Communications, established in 1990, which publishes a monthly outdoor magazine called Tennessee Fishing & Hunting Guide. The magazine covers fishing and hunting topics in Tennessee and is distributed in print form to advertisers at the first of every month. The magazine can also be downloaded from the web by going to www.tnfhg.com. J.L., a graduate of The University of Tennessee, also markets UT Vols sports related products such as football and basketball schedules, limited edition prints, and licensed sports collectibles. Stepp’s background includes over 45 years in sales, marketing, management, and publications. He enjoys a wide variety of outdoor sports, including golf, fishing, and hiking. Stepp and his wife are currently making plans for a third regional guidebook.
