Niq Mhlongo was born in Soweto in 1973. His first novel, ‘Dog Eat Dog’, was published by Kwela Books in 2004 and awarded the Mar de Lettras Prize in 2006. ‘After Tears’, his second novel, was published to critical acclaim in 2007 and his much-anticipated third novel, ‘Way Back Home’, in 2013.
