‘The Pothunters’ is P.G. Wodehouse’s first published novel, released in 1902. It is set in a fictional English public school called St. Austin’s, and it follows the adventures of a group of schoolboys.
The term ‘pothunter’ originally referred to someone who illegally hunted game on private land. In the context of the novel, however, it refers to those who search for archaeological artifacts.
