The Fisherman and the Goldfish is a fairy tale in the form of narrative poetry. The fisherman caught a talking goldfish, and the goldfish said that it would fulfil the fisherman’s wishes if he let it go. The fisherman’s wife was never satisfied and made numerous requests to the little goldfish. The old woman became so greedy by making these requests and experienced a hard life, then splendid houses and a prosperous life and finally poverty again. The story tells us that when pursuing a happy life, we should learn to be moderate and never be too greedy.
