Robert Holland is one of the world”s leading historians of the Mediterranean and the author of Britain and the Revolt in Cyprus, European Decolonization, The Pursuit of Greatness and Emergencies and Disorder in the European Empires after 1945. He is now Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London.
