When children are learning language, they also learn reactions to concepts through the facial expression and body language of others with whom they are interacting. In this book, ‘opposites’, meant for a birth to pre-kindergarten audience, we have addressed this issue with the inclusion of a human element in the illustrations. The individual concepts always refer to what the human model communicates through body language and facial expression based on what they are perceiving so there is a unified interpretation of the text. Our book of opposites has varied and fun environments, animal friends, and a lively pair of human friends who illustrate opposite concepts by facial expression and body language.
