Stephen Allan Young is a proud Angeleno, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. An only child, his mother and father taught him early the importance of hard work and a good education. His father, an accountant by trade, worked in and around the L.A. recycling industry and introduced Steve as a young lad to the business and the hard work. And by the age of seventeen, with just $700 and a pickup truck, Steve Young began to build his multi-million dollar company out of the stuff that people and industries got rid of: scrap.He makes his home in the beautiful San Gabriel Valley (a suburb of L.A.) with his wife, Bea and their three dogs, Mozart, Beethoven and America.Alicia Grace Copeland has been writing for pleasure for years. While managing her husband”s dental office, she published a monthly newsletter for patients which included timely health-related articles as well as essays and short stories. In addition, she and her husband conducted an annual Young Writer”s Short Story Contest, open to students from K-12. Every student received a prize and winners received gift certificates to local bookstores and Barnes & Noble. Over a 20-year period, she and her husband awarded over $10, 000 in prizes to students and teachers.In 2004, Copeland published her novel, Discord In Harmony, and began freelancing and ghostwriting. But, she says working with Steve to produce his memoir, SCRAP, has been her most satisfying challenge so far.
