عن المؤلف
Born in 1958 in Birmingham, Sue Watts’ working class roots denied her a traditional higher education, so she took a job and studied part time. She gained an honours degree in Government and several post-graduate qualifications, including an MA in Industrial Relations from Warwick University, from where she also graduated the Institute of Personnel & Development. She possesses a Diploma in Management and is also qualified as an Executive Coach. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Holding down twin careers for most of her working life, she is a local authority manager by day and until recently was also a visiting lecturer at a City university. She taught post-graduate programmes in management. She also delivered evening classes in assertiveness and confidence building.
Her voluntary roles have concentrated on improving women’s career prospects. She was a Women’s Facilitator for Birmingham City Council between 1987 and 1992, encouraging female colleagues to break through the ‘glass ceiling’. She also mentored female under-graduates for the Industrial Society’s Women into Management programme, besides mentoring on the international ERASMUS programme for visiting female students. She currently acts as an Inspirational Leadership coach to senior executives in local government.
