It is adapted from the same-named motion picture. In order to protect the injured and sickly soldiers of the Eighth Route Army, the northern enemy killed young Zhang Ga’s grandmother during the Anti-Japanese War, and his beloved elderly uncle Zhong was seized by the enemy. In order to effectively execute the reconnaissance mission, Zhang Ga joined the Eighth Route Army, stood watch, and worked with Uncle Luo Jinbao. He displayed daring and ingenuity by seizing the enemy’s handgun. Zhang Ga developed into a revolutionary fighter during the course of the difficult struggle and with the help of the revolutionary squad. Zhang Ga is described in the novel as a little hero who is full of life and has a distinct personality. Numerous generations of readers have been impacted and motivated by this character, which has grown to be one of the most acclaimed and enduring ones in Chinese children’s literature. It was also adapted on the big screen by the Beijing Film Studio in 1963, where it had a long-lasting influence and received a great deal of love and acclaim from kids and teenagers.
