Grey wrote several novels about Ken Ward, drawing on his own youthful experiences. This 1911 novel joins The Young Forester and The Young Lion Hunter, tracing Ken’s fortunes as a high-school senior giving his all for baseball. Grey brings to life the early days of the great American pastime.
