The book, titled "Digital Economy Series 01 – The Unprecedented Challenges of Digital Economy" consists of nine chapters, focusing on the digital economy as the main thread. The first chapter introduces the connotation, characteristics, framework, and technological foundation of the digital economy, and discusses the connotation, origin, characteristics, and theories of digital society and information society. The second and third chapters analyze the development situation of the digital economy at domestic and abroad, compare the development trends and strategies of China and other countries’ digital economy, and analyze and compare the development of the digital economy in different regions, provinces, cities, and industries in China. The fourth and fifth chapters introduce the digitization of various industries and the digitization of industries. The sixth chapter elaborates and analyzes the achievements and challenges of digitization in China’s public security governance, smart cities, digital government, and environmental ecological governance. The seventh chapter briefly introduces digital new infrastructure, including big data centers, artificial intelligence, and industrial internet. The eighth and ninth chapters focus on introducing and discussing the development trends and future prospects of the digital economy, analyzing the global innovation trend, industrial development direction, and organizational structure reform of the digital economy in the future. They also conduct in-depth discussions on theoretical and ideological issues, development foundation issues, and policy governance issues that may arise in the process of promoting the development of the digital economy, and put forward targeted suggestions.
