How well must one know the world to save it? Sybil Dawn, apprentice to a powerful wizard known as the Enlightened, must leave the library of her mentor and brave the dangers of the outside world to find the answer to this question and discover just how powerful she truly is.
As darkness starts to threaten the Kingdom of Irminshu, Sybil is sent on a long and dangerous adventure with a band of strange, and sometimes frustrating, characters. With the help of her companions, a knight in shining armor, a rough-and-tumble barbarian, a deadly assassin, and a brooding dark magic wielder, Sybil will unlock her true abilities and save countless innocents from terrible fates.
Along the way, Sybil realizes that if the world is to be saved, she must know herself as well and accept the powers granted to her as the Soul Child to the God of Light. How will a young woman coming out of her shell fare when faced with the dangers of monsters, the evils of villains, and the temptation of romance?
