I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. My parents were part of the British Raj. I moved to the United Kingdom at the end of 1959. I am married with four children, three girls and one boy.
My youngest daughter was born with RSS syndrome. She spent two and three-quarter years in and out of hospital appointments. During those years, I met many families whose lives were torn apart from giving birth to children with special needs.
I described it as a world of pure suffering.
