She and her husband, Charles, a retired Computer Information’s System Instructor at the same college, reside in Fort Myers, Florida with their cats, “Pepper” and “Missy”. While teaching, they lived on South Bass Island in the summer and operated a Needlearts Shop, “A Stitch in Thyme”.
Betty has authored many dental assistant textbooks and articles. Her first children’s book about cats was “Pepper’s Forever Home”. It is a story about an abandoned black cat whom no one wanted to adopt. “Missy” who lost her family home after Hurricane Katrina and came to love being in the Finkbeiner home. This second book has resulted from the Finkbeiners’ appreciation of Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial and the friendship of their two cats.
