They previously worked at the University of Cambridge, and received their Ph D in philosophy from University College, London. They have held visiting positions at the Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Toronto, LMU Munich, and Yale University. They are based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
