I.C. GUPTA received his Ph.D. in 1968 from University of Jodhpur. He has published about 15 books and 75 papers in the disciplines of water quality and soil salinity. He has participated in several national and international conferences and has received the Glaxo Scientific Honours Club Prize. Indian Council of Agricultural Research bestowed on him the prestigious “Dr. Rajendra Prasad Puraskar (First)” in March, 1986. He, alongwith co-author of this book, has been awarded by Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers. Currently, Dr. Gupta is working at the Jaisalmer Research Centre of the Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur. S.K. GUPTA was awarded Ph.D. in 1984 by Jawahar Lai Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He has been consistently working for the management of salt-affected soils through drainage, leaching and better water management. He has published 75 research papers in national and international journals. He has been awarded by the Institution of Engineers (India) and Indian Society of i Agricultural Engineers. He is currently working as Principal Scientist at the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal.
