Eleonora Gioia is a research fellow and an adjunct professor at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) (Ancona, Italy). She holds a Ph.D. in civil and environmental protection at the same university, for which she collaborated with the Civil Protection of the Marche Region in Italy and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in Golden, Colorado, USA. She worked on the European project “Landslide”, in collaboration with the University of Camerino, to develop landslide forecasting models, and on the European projects LIFE “PRIMES” and Interreg Italy-Croatia „RESPONSe”, with UNIVPM. She is currently working on the analysis of the adaptation responses and perceptions of local communities to climate change impacts. Eleonora Gioia is research Fellow at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM). Geographies of the climate crisis in the Italian coastal areas“ project at the Sapienza University of Rome. Her current research focuses on disaster risk reduction and adaptation of local communities to climate change impacts.
