João Manzano, MD completed residence in surgery and general surgery (2002-2007) from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), specialization in laser prostate surgery from Kempten Hospital (Kempten, Germany) in 2010 and in robotic surgery from Hackensach University (New Jersey, USA) in 2011. He is currently affiliated teacher of the department of surgery from Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).

Ph D in Plastic Surgery from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP, 1985), Post Doc from the University of California (San Francisco, 1992), Head and Full Professor of the discipline of Plastic Surgery UNIFESP (since 1996), Head of the Surgery Department (2008-2011), Director of the Graduate Program in Plastic Surgery at UNIFESP (1996-2009 and 2018-2020) and Director of the Inovaepm (Technological Innovation Nucleus of EPM). She is also International Associate Editor of the Editorial Board of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Global Open, Editor of Plastic Surgery area at Clinics, Reviewer of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Stem Cell Research, American International Immunopharmacology, Journal of Plastic & Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Stem Cells Translational Medicine, Frontiers, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, Clinics, Journal of Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, Burns. He is Member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, Microsurgeon, Coordinator of Orbitopalpebral Surgery Sector and Professional Master’s degree in Science, Technology and Management of Tissue Regeneration at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). He is graduated from the State University of Pará (UEPA), and General and Plastic Surgeon from UNIFESP.
