Irma Wehrli, geboren 1954 in Liestal. Studium der Anglistik, Germanistik und Romanistik. Schwerpunkt ihrer Übersetzungstätigkeit sind englische und amerikanische Autoren des 19. Jahrhunderts und der klassischen Moderne. Für ihre Übertragung des Romans Of Time and the River von Thomas Wolfe wurde ihr 2011 das Zuger Übersetzer-Stipendium zugesprochen, 2017 wurde ihr die Ehrendoktorwürde der Universität Basel für ihr Gesamtwerk als Kulturvermittlerin verliehen. Für den Lenos Verlag übersetzte sie Werke von Leila Aboulela und Julie Otsuka.
