After graduate studies at a theological seminary,
Joy Jordan Lake earned a Ph D in English Literature. She served as the associate pastor of a multi-ethnic church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she led compassion ministries targeting low-income and homeless families, and was a Baptist chaplain at Harvard. She is a contributor to
Books & Culture and the author of other books including
Working Families: Navigating the Demands and
Delights of Marriage, Parenting and Career. With her husband and their three children, Joy currently lives just south of Nashville, where she writes and teaches at Belmont University.
