This is the short story after the events of Christopher Laird’s novel Eternity’s Past:The Reign Of Xona. Christmas is here and it is 1941, two weeks after Pearl Harbor was attacked. Wealthy artictect Monty Herrshoff is alone and depressed for the holidays. His girlfriend is Xona. She is an alien with speacial powers. She had met Mr. Herrshoff over the summer and destoyed the world in the process and ruled it. Once she lost her reign , she left back to her time of the 28th century. She has returned to him to tell him something important that will regard the future…more specfically theirs. Xona has come back during Christmas time. She is confused about the human holiday and wants to know its significance. As Mr.Herrshoff stuggles to find out what Christmas means himself, he is stuggling to explain it to a churlish Xona. This turns into a comedic fiasco that shows the both of them what Christmas is really about and how it will shape their future forever.
