Follow along on this true to life adventure in this first in a series of travel memoirs of the Galavanting Goddess.
When her interest is piqued, Lisa becomes engulfed in the quest to learn how to sail. Closing down her café and leaving her remote Alaskan cabin, complete with her fur baby, to a friend for the winter, Lisa heads South with a focus of palm trees and coconuts. Even though the path is far from straight, her ultimate goal of life on the high seas is fulfilled; and she ends up learning all about intimate living spaces with newly met acquaintances for long periods of time. Follow along as she encounters romance, new friendships, illegal border crossings, disgruntled captains, and gut-wrenching seasickness, along with a myriad of spectacular magical moments. Sometimes joyfully comical, with sides of loneliness and introspection, Alaska to Cuba and Back shows us what travelers have known all along: it’s not the destination but the journey itself that is the entire point.
Galavanting Goddess is a series of travel memoirs following one woman’s highly unconventional life path. Some have called her crazy, some strive to be like her, and some simply enjoy her story. Verging on the edge of chaotic abandon, these life chronicles exude pure entertainment, occasional turmoil, and an unquestionable trust in the process.

Growing up in New Jersey as the black sheep of six kids, there is no Earthly reason why Lisa took such a unique life path. Along with crazy life adventures, she spent over 25 years as a chef, owning three restaurants along the way. After being a sea kayak guide in Alaska and a B&B owner in Vermont, she is now ’settling down‘ to build a house on a hillside in Colorado with her partner-in-crime and their fur babies. This is her first book.
