Dr. Malti Goel has a Doctorate in Physics and D.I.I.T. in Solid State Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She did her Masters in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, with the first rank receiving a Gold Medal in 1967. She had distinguished service in the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. An emeritus scientist and a renowned climate change expert with over 40 years’ experience in carrying out scientific research and policy planning, she has strong track record of multipartnership and multi-institutional projects’ implementation with industry, academia and government participation in science & technology areas of national importance. Dr. Malti Goel is recipient of many prestigious Awards such as Er Avinash Chandra Medal 2006 for excellence in environment education; Bharat Jyoti Award 2012 for outstanding contribution to society; and Build India (Corporate) Award 2015. She became Fellow of National Environment Science Academy in 2008 and of International Conference on Ecology & Environment in 2015. She was awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2016 by the Pearl Foundation Madurai for her exceptional contributions to climate change education and research. She is the recipient of ’Outstanding Contributions to National Development (OCND ’23)’ Award from IITDAA in Academics and Social Impact category. Her original research has been cited in the handbooks and patents. She is a member of several prestigious professional organizations and is currently leading the Climate Change Research Institute with science and technology solutions for a sustainable energy future.
Dr. Neha G. Tripathi is a distinguished climate and sustainability educationist with experience spanning over 20 years in city planning, architecture, and teaching. She obtained her Doctorate in 2013 and Master of Planning (Environmental Planning) degree from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, where she received the Gold Medal for overall performance. Dr. Tripathi served as Assistant Professor of Environmental Planning at the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi from 2013 to 2022. She has led planning projects for the Eco-sensitive Area Mount Abu, Indian Institute of Management Indore, Central Drug Research Institute Lucknow, among others. Dr. Tripathi has published 5 chapters in technical books by Springer and 15 international papers on topics spanning urban planning, energy, climate change, and smart cities. Her areas of expertise include low carbon cities, smart cities, climate change, and solar energy. She co-authored the book “Solar Energy Made Simple for a Sustainable Future” published by Springer in 2022. Dr. Tripathi is an Associate Member of the Institute of Town Planners, Member of the Council of Architecture, Indian Building Council, and National Environmental Science Academy. Her extensive research, publications, leadership roles, and awards demonstrate her deep knowledge and commitment to the field of environmental planning and architecture. Currently engaged in pioneering efforts, Dr. Tripathi is innovating the climate change curriculum for K-12 students in the United States.
