Does your child ask for one thing (maybe ice cream), over and over?
…and over?!
‚I Wish That I Could Have Ice Cream Every Day‘ embraces the idea, as a young child talks about the colours and flavours they’d like to try –
and then remembers why having it every day might not be quite so special after all.
Written in rhyme to encourage young children to follow along, it explores the delight of different flavours while focussing on one colour on each page.
There is no adult ‚intervention‘ or ‚direction‘ in the story. The child remembers on their own why too much is not necessarily a good thing.
An adult reader can help to prompt a child about something they may think they want more of.
Included are a simple recipe for making ice cream, and play dough (both will need adult supervision).
