Dr. R.C. Maheshwari Ph.D. from (HT Delhi in 1974 is professor, at Centre for Rural Development and Technology, at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi). Prof. Maheswari has been actively persuing research, development and Extension work for the last 20 years in the area of Bio Energy Systems for Rural Areas, Extraction Technology, waste recycling and waste management, water sanitation and pulp & paper technology. He worked at tne technical university, Karlsruhe, Germany in 1975-76 under the DAAD programme He operated several research and industrial projects independently. He has published widely in National & International Journals, and Proceedings. He had been coordinator for National Technical backup unit, National programme on improved cookstoves in India from (1988-93). He is Head SCS and President Board of Student Welfare since 1996 at ITT Delhi. Presently he is a honorary secretary of Bio Energy Society of India. Pradeep Chaturvedi is a well-known expert in the Energy Conservation and Renwable Energy sector with expertise in project planning, implementation, and management with emphasis on technology transfer and skill building. At present, Mr. Chaturvedi is also working as a Consultant to FAO’s Regional Wood Energy Development Programme for Asia. He is the Vice Chairman of the U.K. based World Renewable Energy Network supported by UNESCO. Being a founder of the Bio Energy Society of India, and now its Vice President, he is involved in projecting the biofuels issue nationally and internationally. Mr. Chaturvedi is a Graduate in Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Recipient of FAO’s World Food Day Silver Medal 1991. Mr. Chaturvedi has edited and authored 16 books related to sustainable development, and renewable energy and energy conservation: and has contributed papers at several national and international conferences.
