Prof. Dr. techn. Günther Meschke Günther Meschke graduated from Vienna University of Technology with a M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering and obtained his Ph.D. in 1989 at TU-Vienna. In 1998 he became Full Professor at Ruhr University Bochum. His research is concerned with computational and data-driven models for the simulation of materials and structures with emphasis on tunneling and subsurface engineering. Among other appointments, he is member of four academies of science and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Engineering Structures. Since 2021, he is Vice Rector for Research and Transfer at Ruhr University Bochum.   Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rolf Breitenbücher Rolf Breitenbücher studied Civil Engineering at Technical University Munich, where he also gained his Ph D in 1989. After 10 years in a construction company Rolf Breitenbücher overtook the Chair for Building Materials at the Ruhr University Bochum 2003 as full Professor. He also is engaged in various national and European standardization committees.   Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Freitag Steffen Freitag is professor for Structural Analysis at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) since 2021. He studied Civil Engineering and also obtained his Ph D in 2010 from Technische Universität Dresden. From 2011 to 2012, he was a visiting scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology and from 2012 to 2021, he worked at the Institute for Structural Mechanics at Ruhr University Bochum. His research interests are computational intelligence, computing with uncertain data, and numerical prediction methods for structural analysis.   Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Thewes Markus Thewes is professor for Tunnelling and Construction Management at Ruhr University Bochum since 2005 after previously spending 12 years in the tunneling industry on various positions, from tunnel designer and research engineer to tunnel manager. He teaches tunnel construction and operation as well as construction technologies and construction management. His research focuses on technologies for tunnel boring machines, sprayed concrete applications, process simulation and risk management in tunneling, operation and maintenance of tunnels and utility lines, as well as safety and security issues of underground structures.   Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König Markus König is professor for Computing in Engineering at Ruhr University Bochum since 2009. He studied civil engineering with a specialization in applied computer science at the University of Hanover, where he also received his Ph D. Afterwards, he became assistant professor for Theoretical Methods of Project Management at the Bauhaus University Weimar. He is deputy head of the national center for the digitalization of the German construction industry (BIM Germany). For his scientific and practical achievements, he was awarded with the Konrad Zuse Medal of the German Construction Industry Association in 2020.
