Vasundhara Mahajan is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, India. She obtained her doctoral (Ph.D.) in 2014 and master’s degree (M. Tech.) in 2005 from IIT Roorkee and graduated in electrical engineering from NIT Raipur (formerly GEC) in 1999. She worked as a lecturer at the Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, from Sept. 2000 to Oct. 2007. Then joined Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, Gujarat. Since October 2007, she has been at SVNIT. Dr. Mahajan has 20+ years of teaching and research experience. She has published around 70 papers in international/national journals and conferences. She has guided many Ph.D., M.Tech., and B.Tech. projects. Under her guidance, two students have completed their doctoral program in 2020. Presently, she is guiding three doctoral candidates. Her research areas are power system reliability, cybersecurity, restructuring/deregulation, energy market, congestion management, power quality improvement, active power filters, FACTS, artificial intelligence, and machine/deep learning.
 
Anandita Chowdhury is a professor of Electrical Engineering at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, India. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bengal Engineering College, currently Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology, Shibpur, West Bengal, and her Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Anandita is a passionate teacher, she has more than twenty-five years of teaching experience. Apart from teaching she has guided a significant number of Ph.D. and M.Tech. theses. Her areas of research interest are Electrical Machines, Drives, Power systems, and Renewable Energy. She has an appreciable number of publications in reputed journals and conferences. Anandita has organized several workshops and short-term training programs on recent trends and developments in Electrical Engineering for teachers and students. She is a reviewer of many reputed international journals.
 
S. N. Singh obtained his M. Tech. and Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, in 1989 and 1995. Presently, Prof Singh is Director, Atal Bihari Bajpayee- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior (MP), India (on leave from Professor (HAG), Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India). Dr. Singh received several awards including the Young Engineer Award 2000 of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, and the Young Engineer Award of CBIP New Delhi (India), 1996. Prof Singh is a recipient of the Humboldt Fellowship of Germany (2005, 2007) and the Ottomonsted Fellowship of Denmark (2009-10). Prof Singh became the first Asian to receive the 2013 IEEE Educational Activity Board Meritorious Achievement Award in Continuing Education. He is also the recipient of the INAE Outstanding Teacher Award 2016 and IEEE R10 region (Asia-Pacific) Outstanding Volunteer Award 2016. Dr Singh was appointed as IEEE Distinguished Lecturer of the Power & Energy Society in 2019 and Industry Application Society for 2019-2021. He is also the recipient of the NPSC 2020 Academic Excellence Award and the 2021 IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Outstanding Educator/ Mentor Award. His research interests include power system restructuring, FACTS, power system optimization & control, security analysis, wind power, etc. Prof Singh has published over 500 papers (h-index=57, Citation=12k+) in International/ national journals/conferences and supervised 40 Ph. D.s (8 Ph D under progress). He has also written 30 book chapters, 8 Edited books, and 02 textbooks. Prof Singh has completed three dozen technical projects in India and abroad.
 
Mohammad Shahidehpour is a University Distinguished Professor and Director of the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He has over 40 years of experience with power system operation, planning, and control and has completed several major projects for the electric energy sector. His industry-funded project on Perfect Power Systems has converted the entire IIT Campus to an islandable microgrid. Dr. Shahidehpour was the recipient of several technical awards including the IEEE Burke Hayes Award for his research on hydrokinetics, IEEE/PES Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award, IEEE/PES Ramakumar Family Renewable Energy Excellence Award, IEEE/PES Douglas M. Staszesky Distribution Automation Award, and the Edison Electric Institute’s Power Engineering Educator Award. He has co-authored 6 books and over 900 technical papers on electric power system operation and planning and served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. Dr. Shahidehpour is the recipient of the 2009 honorary doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. He is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of CSEE (China), a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE). He is also listed as a highly cited researcher on the Web of Science (ranked in the top 1% by citations demonstrating significant influence among his peers).
