Come Back, Garbage Truck was inspired by the authors children, Britton and Brooks. She wanted to combine her daughters love for people and her sons love for the spectacular garbage truck. Her children would stand and watch the garbage trucks pull up to the house every week. Many family outings would include a quick detour to chase after beloved garbage and recycling trucks they would see driving by.

Deanna Lowenthal lives in Mc Kinney, Texas, with her husband, two children, and her Jack Russell Terrier. She studied at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and has been a writing instructor for thirteen years. She loves to travel, write, and color in coloring books. Her hope is to instill in all children that you should never stop dreaming and learning, no matter how old you are.
