As an Artist my artistic focus is to continue to write children’s books and collections of poetry and perform as a spoken word artist.
Recently I have performed poetry in the New York tri- state area in the following Venues:
The Puffin Foundation in Teaneck, NJ,
Technology Resource Center in Englewood, NJ
Also performed with the AIM Theatre Workshop and Educators Network, Writers and Actors: Creative Harvest and Celebration of Black History Month at the Englewood Library.
Open mic night, at The Henry Street Settlement in celebration of Women’s Month
The Nuoyorican Café and Fredrick Douglass Center for the Performing arts.
My goal as an artist is to incorporate the poetic art form into teaching young people in an educational setting. To help ensure that young people continue to understand the importance of literature and how it fits in the 21st century.
