But so far as I know there are no books on the graphic arts, written or edited, by graphic artists. This series is intended to be a survey of the best work in the past – the work that is admitted to be worth studying – and a definite statement as to the best methods of making drawings, prints, and engravings, written in every case by those who have passed their lives in making them.
