Emma Shevah ist in London aufgewachsen, legte aber zahlreiche Zwischenstationen in verschiedenen Ländern ein. Sie studierte Anglistik und Philosophie an der Universität in Nottingham und schloss ihren Master in Kreativem und Professionellem Schreiben ab. Emma ist halb Irin, halb Thai. Ihr Ururgroßvater war König Rama I von Thailand, daher sollte sie eigentlich einem Leben in den Tropen voller Luxus und Bequemlichkeit frönen. Stattdessen verbringt sie ihre Zeit im regnerischen London mit Schreiben, lehrt Englisch und erzieht vier Kinder.
