Alison Kittrell has been a working journalist for almost 30 years. She began in daily newspapers, and in 1981, as copy desk chief at The Kansas City Times, she handled the paper’s Pulitzer prize-winning coverage of the collapse of the skywalks at the Hyatt Regency hotel. In 1984, she began to focus on business journalism, taking a job as copy editor for Business Insurance magazine. In 1988, she co-founded Gaynor Communications, which specializes in a variety of written communications for the business world. She lives with her husband and three children in Skokie, Illinois.
